RecipeBestie helps you find recipes, make shopping lists and build recipe books. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain words.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and a scrambled version of your password. We can never read your password.
- What you make in the app: your recipe books, the recipes in them, your shopping lists and your settings, such as units.
- Links you paste: the recipe link, so we can open the page and read the recipe.
- Basic technical data: device type, app platform and the days you used the app, so we can keep it working and stop abuse.
How we use it
We use your data to run your account, show your books and lists on your devices, and keep the service safe. We do not sell your personal data. We do not use it for third party advertising.
Who helps us
Our servers are run by our hosting provider. When a page has no clear recipe data, the page text may be sent to Google’s Gemini service to read the recipe. Your name and email are not sent. Recipe photos may load from other websites, so those sites may see a normal web request from your device.
Keeping and deleting your data
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete your account any time in the app under Me, Delete my account, or at recipebestie.com/delete-account. This removes your account, books and lists right away. Normal backups are cleared within 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. Email support@recipebestie.com. If you live in the EU, the UK or California you have these rights by law, and we will not treat you differently for using them.
Children
RecipeBestie is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you in the app.
